Field distribution ofSorosphaera viticolain commercial vineyards in Germany

2006

In the year 2000, resting spores of a previously undescribed plasmodiophorid were found in roots of Vitis spp. This plasmodiophorid was identified as a member of the genus Sorosphaera Schroeter and described as Sorosphaera viticola Kirchmair, Neuhauser, Huber. To attain information on the field distribution of Sorosphaera viticola, a selective screening was conducted in two commercial vineyards in Germany. A study to determine a correlation of Sorosphaeraviticola infection to grapevine growth was also performed.

Spatio-temporal small area surveillance of the COVID-19 pandemic

2022

Abstract The emergence of COVID-19 requires new effective tools for epidemiological surveillance. Spatio-temporal disease mapping models, which allow dealing with small units of analysis, are a priority in this context. These models provide geographically detailed and temporally updated overviews of the current state of the pandemic, making public health interventions more effective. These models also allow estimating epidemiological indicators highly demanded for COVID-19 surveillance, such as the instantaneous reproduction number R t , even for small areas. In this paper, we propose a new spatio-temporal spline model particularly suited for COVID-19 surveillance, which allows estimating a…

Stochastic Scheduling of Production Orders Under Uncertainty

2018

This paper attempts to solve the problem of searching minimum production order completion time variants by means of stochastic logical structures with all cost curve descent points and corresponding minimum-cost schedules. The analysis presented in this paper considers scheduling of unique and small batch production, predominantly to order, which accounts for changing requirements of the customer, the complexity and long production process makespan including its technical preparation. Scheduling of production order was performed by means of GAN networks and employed the concept of soft relations. The cost/time relation analysis is based on two-node network models using the cost curve. A new…

Agro-food markets’ functional efficiency, products’ quality and information’s role

2018

Nowadays agro-food productions’ quality and markets’ economic efficiency are strictly connected and related to the increasing information’s role that is no doubt simplify by the global presence of the World Wide Web system. It is possible to assert that this kind of situation does not always safeguard information’s safety and propriety and at the same time consumers’ aware and complete choice capability. From a production markets’ economic efficiency point of view these elements contribute to create some kind of functional distortions able to prevent their proper working system under the economic theory profile and supply misunderstandings and informational asymmetries. These specific condi…

Solving the Problems of Inspection Planning under Parametric Uncertainty of Underlying Models

2013

Certain fatigued structures must be inspected in order to detect fatigue damages that would otherwise not be apparent. A technique for obtaining optimal inspection strategies is proposed for situations where it is difficult to quantify the costs associated with inspections and undetected failure. For fatigued structures for which failures (fatigue damages) are only detected at the time of inspection, it is important to be able to determine the optimal times of inspection. Fewer inspections will lead to lower fatigue reliability of the structure upon demand, and frequent inspection will lead to higher cost. When there is a fatigue reliability requirement, the problem is usually to develop an…

Using Cloud, Modularity, and Make-to-Upgrade Strategy for Integrating Customized-Oriented Supply Networks

2013

In the current global business individual demand play crucial roles. Customized-oriented supply networks are being proliferated in manufacturing industries, yet integration of their members is still quite challenging. As a practical solution, in this paper a new collaborative approach out of modularity structure, cloud computing, and a novel production strategy, called Make-to-Upgrade (MTU), is suggested. The complementary aspects of these techniques are highlighted and briefly explained here. MTU is as a strategy for future products with new characteristics, e.g., upgradability.

Multiscale analyses and characterizations of surface topographies

2018

International audience; This work studies multiscale analyses and characterizations of surface topographies from the engineering and scientific literature with an emphasis on production engineering research and design. It highlights methods that provide strong correlations between topographies and performance or topographies and processes, and methods that can confidently discriminate topographies that were processed or that perform differently. These methods have commonalities in geometric characterizations at certain scales, which are observable with statistics and measurements. It also develops a semantic and theoretical framework and proposes a new system for organizing and designating …

An Italian input–output model for the assessment of energy and environmental benefits arising from retrofit actions of buildings

2013

Abstract The paper presents an energy and environmental extended input–output model combined with the life cycle assessment, applied to assess the energy and environmental benefits arising from the Italian policy of tax deduction for energy retrofit actions of buildings. The study allowed to assess the advantages due to the above policy, taking into account both direct and indirect energy saving and avoided CO 2 emissions obtained with the retrofit actions and indirect energy consumption and related CO 2 emissions due to the realization of the above actions. Moreover, the authors defined an original model to assess the indirect rebound effect caused by the energy saving actions. The obtaine…
